Holy Week

What makes this week stand apart from all others?

Imagine being an Israelite during Jesus’ time. The air was thick with tension. Roman occupation loomed heavy, and the sight of countless crucifixions was a grim reminder of their oppression. The Israelites longed desperately for a savior. So when Jesus rode into Jerusalem, they cried out, “Hosanna!”—a plea that meant, “Save us!”

We all long to be saved. But are we ready to be saved in the way God intends for us?

This Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week—a journey through triumph, reflection, and sorrow. We will celebrate Jesus’ victorious entry into Jerusalem. We will sit at the table of the Last Supper. We will grieve at the foot of the cross. And in doing so, we will confront our own mortality, our sinfulness, and the brokenness of the world around us.

Too often, we rush through this week, eager to reach the joy of the resurrection. But I urge you to pause. Don’t hurry past the weight of these moments. Let the depth of this week settle in your heart. Reflect on the cost of what was done for us. Because when we truly sit in the gravity of Holy Week, the celebration of Easter becomes infinitely sweeter.

Take the time. Let the story unfold. And when April 5 arrives, rejoice fully in the life that was won for us.

Until Everyone Hears,

P. S. – Easter is the perfect time to change someone’s life. Invite them into a relationship with Jesus.
