Love Boldly

Love isn’t a feeling you wait around for. It’s a choice you make. Again and again, on the good days and the hard ones.

Here’s the truth we keep coming back to at Trinity: God loved us first. Before we had our lives together. Before we figured out our faith. Before we did a single thing to earn it. Grace showed up first. And that changes everything about how we love each other.

What Bold Love Actually Looks Like

Jesus set the bar high. “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (John 13:34). Notice he didn’t say love the people who are easy. He said love like he loved — sacrificially, honestly, without keeping score.

That’s bold love. It steps toward the person everyone else steps around. It shows up when it’s inconvenient. It forgives when holding a grudge would feel so much better.

And 1 John 3:18 puts a fine point on it: “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” Love that stays in your head isn’t really love yet. It has to move. It has to get its hands dirty.

Maybe You’re Running on Empty

We get it. A lot of us feel stretched thin. The job drains you. The bills stack up. Some days you wonder if any of it even matters.

Here’s the good news: you don’t have to feel full to love well. God’s grace fills the gaps. When you pour out love you don’t think you have, God has a way of meeting you right there. That’s not a nice saying — it’s how transformation works. You take one small step, and grace carries the rest.

Three Ways to Love Boldly This Week

You don’t need a grand plan. Start small. Start today.

  1. Speak life to one person. Text a friend who’s struggling. Tell your kid you’re proud of them. Encourage a coworker who feels invisible. Words matter more than we think.
  2. Show up for someone. Bring the meal. Make the visit. Sit with the person who’s hurting. Presence is a powerful kind of love.
  3. Cross a line you’d normally avoid. Reach out to someone different from you. Forgive the person who wronged you. Bold love goes where comfortable love won’t.

Pick one. Just one. Watch what God does with it.

This Is Our Invitation

You were made for more than getting by. You were made to love — and to be changed by loving. That’s the heart of following Jesus. Not a checklist. A life poured out.

So here’s our challenge to you this week: choose one bold act of love, and do it. Then tell us about it. We want to celebrate with you.

Love isn’t something you feel your way into. It’s something you live your way into.

Let’s love boldly — together.

P.S. – Bring a friend on Sunday to celebrate that Trinity is a church that LOVES BOLDLY!!
