Revisiting Confronting Controversy

Our January series was very powerful. We looked at five controversial topics through the lens of faith and scripture. At times, it was uncomfortable. At times, people felt seen. At times, people changed their minds. Surprisingly though, it was a great series that looked at real issues and showed us that we can confront controversy and still love one another to Christ.

This Sunday, we will take another look at this series while tackling another controversial topic: abortion. If this topic is an emotional trigger for you due to past trauma, please feel free to skip this one. My hope is that you find Trinity United Methodist Church a place of healing but if you’re not ready, then we all will understand with no questions asked.

If you can attend, as with the other sermons from this series, I want you to come with an open mind and heart. Be curious about what the Bible says and how we might apply it to this topic.

It won’t be easy, but as with any controversial topic, saying nothing can often do more harm than trying to address it.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday, and as always, remember God loves you and so do I!

P.S. – Thank you to everyone who has invited a friend or neighbor to worship!
