The Generous Life: Generosity of Jesus

Jesus talked a lot about money. A LOT! Most of the time it wasn’t about giving or spending but about greed. Greed is a selfish desire to have more of something: money, power, or food etc. Greed works against our call to live a generous life.

Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” If you look at where my treasure goes, you’ll see my heart is with Citibank. I wish that weren’t true, but it is.

What would Jesus say about that? What else could you look at in your life or mine to discern generosity?

This Sunday will be the third in a sermon series on generosity, and we will look at how Jesus described generosity and how we can guard against greed in our lives.

I hope to see you there! My hope is that this message will be practical wisdom that everyone can apply to their daily lives.

P.S. – Thanks for reading. I’m curious…what is one question you have about money or tithing? Send me a message and let me know! I promise to keep your question confidential.
