I discovered an old Santa
While put up my tree
His red suit was now faded
An awful sight to see
His best days were behind him
Worn down from Christmas past
Tattered, torn and faded
Another season he would not last
About to put him in the trash
I swear I heard him say
I may be frayed and bent at knees
But don’t throw me away
I wish you could have seen me
When I was bright and new
A treasured gift of Christmas
From a friend that you once knew
Today as you now see me
So someday you must be
No longer bright and shiny
Worn and broken just like me
Just because you have grown old
Shouldn’t mean you are through
There may be life still in you
Many things you can still do
So I’ll find a place of honor
There’s nothing more to say
A home for an Old Santa
Where I can see him every day
